I don't know Steve, I think you lost here fair and square. But good try with the picture of Autumn. Hoping for points with the relatives? Amy has an eye for design and composition. She had this thing on lockdown from the start. Also, thank you for the excellent idea. I may challenge Aaron to a photo duel at some point in the future. Now I'm off to watch Cranford... your wife recommended it. :)

I demand a recount! Can someone say 'hanging chad.'

1. It's nicely conposed. Nice job controlling depth of field to put the background entirely out of focus. But the flowers aren't sharp. Poor choice to not have the flowers sharp. I would have thought that was the point of the photo.
2. Too much flare. What is your subject? Is it Autumn wearing a pair of Adaya's pants and Adaya's jacket? Or is it flare? Some flare adds to the photo. But that...
3. Great color and exposure! Love the deep greens and blues. Could use less forground, just crop off the bottom 1/5.
4. Love it! Makes me wonder what is so interesting that the little one stops. Did she drop a berry? Did she see something that you or I wouldn't have? And what's around that corner that she just came from? Great use of lines to carry your viewer through the picture.
5. Like it. Like the sun in this one. First it draws you to the corner. Then the viewer follows the light through the photo to the oposite corner. Then you notice the walkway and follow it into the woods. Would have worked just a bit better if you could pull out some of the detail in the shadowy woods.

As a set of photos, I think Stephen's top five make him the better all around photographer.

This was fun. I like looking critically at photos. :O)

Hmm...well, I have to say that Amy kicked your butt on this one, photographically speaking, that is. :) I say, next time challenge her to a target shooting contest. I'm pretty sure you'd dominate on that one. Or maybe a wood chopping duel. She probably has you beat in the kitchen department, so maybe not a cooking competition. I defeated Sal this summer by using Amy's guacamole recipe in our Guacamole-Off of '09. I say play to your strengths. :)

Angie:

1. No, look closer. The subject of the picture is the spider web. Anyone can get their flowers in focus. Few have the skilz to capture such a fine thread. The flowers were about the size of a pencil eraser.

2. Too much flare? What's that mean, it's like too much money, there's no such thing. It's like a girl too pretty, too much class, being too lucky, or car too fast.

3. Thanks

4. Thanks.

5. No, the shadows make it mysterious. You look at the picture and Bigfoot could still be in there somewhere.

Leah:
Actually, I've seen Amy shoot once and I wouldn't want to challenge here to that. But the wood chopping is a good idea or maybe timed oil changes. When it comes to axes and 5W-30, I rock.
