The Magic Carpet
"Well, you don't know what we can find
Why don't you come with me little girl
On a magic carpet ride
You don't know what we can see
Why don't you tell your dreams to me
Fantasy will set you free
Close your eyes girl
Look inside girl
Let the sound take you away"
I like to sing this song to Autumn when she goes to play on what we call the magic carpet. She usually really likes to be here, but when she was smaller we used to set her here for "tummy time." She cried and squirmed and just generally was discouraged and frustrated to be put in a position she couldn't operate well in. All the while we would smile and encourage her and say things like "great job," "you're doing great," and "you're getting so strong." That makes me wonder how often God sets us into situations that he knows we don't have the spiritual muscle, balance and coordination to operate in and then watches and encourages us as we struggle, knowing that we need the exercise if we are ever going to grow.

Tummy time is for the birds. :O) You can't play with the toys if you're on your tummy and can't hardly lift your head. Adaya got less tummy time then Josiah. She started crawling before him too. So I'm not convinced that tummy time is all it's cracked up to be.
So you're saying that God puts us in awkward situations just because He has a sadistic sense of humor?
