Photo Contest Amy's Entries

Yesterday we went for a picnic at a nearby lake with our friends Isaac & Katie. Sometime during a walk Amy and I entered into a photo contest with each other. We each had about 15 minutes with the camera. Here's five of Amy's best shots. I was pleasantly surprised to see that she really has an eye for it. She just needs some practice learning how to operate the different settings on the camera. We'll let you all be the judges.

BLUEBERRIES! I'm so, so jealous. You're going to be absolutely swimming in them! I need to make sure I have a cooler full before I head to Connecticut. Either that or we're going to have to work out some sort of trade? What do you want that Connecticut has? :)

I had lunch with Bonnie today...I'm so pumped to see you guys!

Amy says something about antiques and historic housing and the hub of the country's furniture manufacturing industry. "A trade? You bet!"

We do have good berries here, but I haven't seen anything like the epic days in the secret berry patches of Southcentral.

BTW, the word verification for this comment was 'lutbudge'

1. Too much out of focus green on the top photo. You should crop off the top. It serves little purpose.
2. I don't care for the berry pic. Not enough contrast.
3. Love the little girl's expression. That makes the shot. Would have liked to see it rotated so that you can see the entire shadow. nice angle on the central line and color split.
4. I like the lily pads, but don't love them.
5. The girls are cute but a stop or so underexposed.

I think Amy's number three is ultimately my favorite of the ten photos. I would have picked Stephen's child on the boardwalk, but the more I look at it the more I want to crop the bottom third off, too much boardwalk.

1. Disagree. I think the green makes a much more interesting backdrop.

2. Not enough berries is what I think, but it was a good idea.

3. Amy says Thanks.

4. Different opinions. I thought this was her best shot. Besides, lily pads are great places to catch trout.

5. It was chilly that night, so their parents didn't want them to be over-exposed.
